Retreat Inside Yourself | Quiet Sanctuaries

At House of Grey, we value our free time extremely highly and taking moments away from the studio gives time for reflecting, recharging and refocusing. Environment and location are powerful factors in helping one re-centre, and we’ve been taking note of some sanctuaries which have been specifically designed for finding inner balance.

Created for and by women, She She retreats aim to empower women with their carefully curated breaks. Founders, designer Albertine, and yoga teacher Steph uniquely combine physical movement, contemporary spirituality, and creativity to create calm for the modern and conscious woman. Retreats are mainly run from a private home nestled in the hills of the picturesque Mallorcan town of Deià - the elegant, clean interiors are the perfect setting for re-setting the mind.

Tulum Tree House, also known as ‘your private hotel’, is a home open for rentals for those seeking calm. Constructed next to the dense jungle and a national park, the house is a sublime marriage of international design and local craftsmanship. Basketweavers, ceramic makers, and carpenters from the area have worked together to create a space which breathes serenity while harmonising with its surroundings - an ideology strongly in line with House of Grey’s ethos.  The house is also equipped with a full solar setup, water treatment and irrigation systems which work to help preserve the eco-system of the Tulum jungle.

The vast, empty backdrop of the desert is the ideal place to find inner silence and Sarabeo Camps is where to do it. Located just 45 minutes from Marrakech, yet feeling like it’s at the end of the world, the camp is the perfect retreat from the modern world, the remoteness helping guests disconnect from technology. Sarebeo Camps offers visitors the chance to partake in numerous outdoor activities or simply enjoy the pure air and nourishing Moroccan cuisine under the stars, enabling us to reconnect and be at one with the earth. The choice to fuse local and traditional items such as Berber rugs and Moroccan lanterns with modern amenities, work to create a luxurious simplicity.

If you prefer to restore yourself mentally and physically with spa treatments, Monte Verdi will cater to all your desires. Serenity pools, hammam treatments, facials, massages and more - all set within carefully restored Tuscan villas. The soft plastered walls, neutral, warm tones and accents of wood throughout the interiors, heighten the essence of an organic experience, fully immersing and grounding you in nature.

Whatever you have planned for this summer, make sure to carve out time to gather your thoughts and create some much needed physical and mental space - a luxury we all deserve.
